How do I choose a frame for my painting?

We offer framing services so your painting arrives ready to hang. Here’s what you need to know:

Framing Options

  • Framed paintings: We frame your painting in one of our many frame styles.
Note: For safety during shipping, framed paintings are limited to a maximum size of approximately 24″ x 36″ (61 cm x 92 cm). Larger paintings cannot be shipped framed.
  • Gallery Wrap (Stretched Canvas): The painting is stretched over wooden bars with the image continuing around the sides. Ready to hang without a frame — great for modern and contemporary looks.
  • Rolled Canvas: If you prefer to frame it locally, we ship the painting rolled in a tube with extra canvas on the edges for easy framing.

How to Choose a Frame

A good frame should complement the painting without overpowering it. Here are some simple tips:

  • Consider your room’s style (modern, traditional, minimalist, etc.).
  • Choose colors that contrast moderately with the painting so it stands out.
  • For Impressionist and landscape paintings: Light wood frames (oak, maple, cherry) often work well.
  • For classic portraits and traditional art: Gold or ornate frames are popular.
  • For modern, abstract, or contemporary art: Simple black, white, or plain wooden frames look best.

You can preview how different frames look on your chosen painting directly on the product page before adding it to your cart.
